Chow is an overseas Chinese from Southeast Asia who has made a fortune in Hong Kong in recent years. A large real estate deal just made him a celebrity. Many of the city’s elite are keen to meet him, among them Ma Man Sing, second son of the founder of a local Chinese bank, and Ng Yuet Wah, widow of a shoe manufacturer.
