L'Étranger
September 5 and 6, 8pm and 3pm on September 7 Following the success of his solo work To Stay or To Make a Move in the UK, France and Hong Kong, Victor Fung's latest production L'Étranger is a contemporary dance work departing from Albert Camus's novel that explores the notion of time as a human experience. At times elaborated and suspended while stranded and disjointed at others, the protagonists finds themselves caught in fleeting moments of presence and existence. |

The Sleeping Princess
August 29 & 30, 7:45pm Celebrating its 50th anniversary, The Hong Kong Ballet Group presents The Sleeping Princess with its Heinz Bosl Memorial Scholarship recipient Yuri Ng and renowned musician-dancer Stephen Xavier as Co-Artistic Directors. Over 180 students and teachers from 32 dance schools will perform together with Cliff Lui and Sylvia Wu, the first ballet prince and princess of Hong Kong. |

L'Imeddiat
June 20-21, 8pm In the award-winning L’Immédiat by contemporary circus performer and stage virtuoso Camille Boitel, nothing is what it seems. A stage packed full of clutter; furniture, cardboard boxes, and ladders serves as a playground for performers to charge through, under and over, causing pieces of the junkyard-set to cave in around them. Chaos builds. A woman comes home and everything falls over. She hangs up her coat and the rack collapses, puts her bag on a table but its legs have been sawn through. Disaster continues to spread at a frenetic speed as the 7 young artists use their formidable physical abilities and comedy timing to defy the ruthless tsunami of destabilizing forces. |

As If To Nothing
June 13-14, 8pm As If To Nothing is an adrenaline-packed and interactive multimedia work created by the internationally renowned choreographer Sang Jijia. This exhilarating work examines the passage of time in the stream of memories through an exquisite movement vocabulary designed by Sang. Having won two 2010 Hong Kong Dance Awards (“Outstanding Dance Production” and “Outstanding Achievement in Choreography”), the production was also invited to perform in Beijing, Guangzhou, Singapore and Florence. This tour-de-force returns for another breathtaking journey led by the CCDC dancers and their extremely physical and emotional performance. |

The Gilded Fan
March 14-15, 7:30 and 2:15 The Gilded Fan, a lyric drama by the legendary writer Tong Tik-sang, tells of the trials of love through poetic lyrics and virtuosic singing. Yam Bing-yee, who played Kwai-ying in The Gilded Fan, assists the young performers in preparin for their roles. The performances take place at the Yau Ma Tei Theatre, a newly restored historical site dedicated to performances of Cantonese opera. |
