Gift Ideas for Dancers
5-5-16
We had tons of web traffic to our last gift article. We thought we'd keep the theme going with helping you find the perfect gift for the little ballerina in your life.
Classes
Education is key to keeping up your dance training and it ain't cheap to take a bunch of dance classes. You could pay for your loved ones' classes for the next month or you could even buy them a Groupon to a different style of dance. You never know when that Samba training or Fly Yoga classes could come in handy! Twinkle Dance is also a highly rated dance company among local moms.
Fashion Essentials
Dancers go through a lot of dance shoes. And quality dance shoes are an expensive investment. Find out your friend's size and buy 'em a pair! If shoes are out of your price range then you could go with leotards or workout clothes for them to practice in. Fonteyn is a great store with an online shop and physical store in Wanchai.
Online shopping is normally best when you're looking for bulk buys or plus size dance wear.
Water Bottle
You need to keep hydrated if you're gonna arabesque all night long! Bobble makes these very cool water bottles with the filter built in. It'll save them a ton of money in bottled water and it's better for the environment.
Music
If your friend is a dance teacher they need a ton of music at their disposal. Classical is good if they teach ballet. Fast paced dance music is great for warm ups. If you're unsure of what kind of music your friend needs you could always buy them an Itunes gift card. Movies of dance productions are another great idea! Matthew Bourne's Swan Lake is one of our favorite dance productions.
Inspiration
Another way of learning is to read from the Masters. Books written by great dancers and books about dance technique can help your dancer learn more about their art form. We highly recommend Martha Graham's biography. She led an inspirational life and gives great advice in her book that all artists should hear. It's even available in E-Book for your Kindle!
