The Dream
19-2-13
I've had a dream for a very long time of getting to produce an outdoor theatre festival that promotes the colorful tapestry of artists we have in this town. I've been wanting to do it for years. I've submitted grant proposals, looked for sponsors, done the works. Lots of doors have been shut in my face but I will not be ignored... One day I know it will happen, I just need to work hard and find the right connections.
Over the weekend I was at Kubriks, which is a little art bookstore in Mong Kok. There I met a local visual artist named Ali and he was nice enough to autograph a copy of his book for me and invite me to his studio in Sheung Wan. We had a good, long chat about art and Hong Kong in general. I asked him about getting his book published. It must have been difficult. My friends are always complaining.
"It was surprisingly easy. I was in the right place, at the right time. Someone saw my work and wanted to make a book with me."
So I will keep working on my dream. Hopefully, I'll meet the right person, at the right time, and they'll want to work with me.
What's your dream?
