Think Positive

  18-6-13

Last week we had an article that got a lot of buzz where people shared their feelings on what they would want to change about Hong Kong's theatre scene. Now, I want the flip side.

What's your favorite thing about it?

I want to know all the things you love about it!

Obviously, there are some things or you guys wouldn't keep busting your booties doing shows for free. Audience members have to like something we do, or they wouldn't keep turning up. We all need to share the love. Positive affirmation helps foster a healthier relationship.

Once again, here's another funny cat photo.

We love that if you put a picture of a cat on a blog article- your klout score automatically goes up!

The friendships you make in the theatre scene in HK are amazing. Working in theatre here (whether onstage or off) provides great opportunities to meet so many new people and make lifelong friends. It's a wonderful social setup that can integrate you into the scene when you first get here.

I love that, despite numerous setbacks, people showing late without prior notice, disputes blah blah by June 26th we should be able to pull off a pretty good show. I'm also grateful that so many of my friends are coming along to give their support.

Oh, and of course, having the opportunity to meet so many wonderful people such as MM, NGW, NR, BP. Such fun!

I love the energy of it, strangers getting together few times a week trying to make it work, and from the way each of us interprets the role(s), digests it and be it... discovering the stories behind each other from the way we perform, and realize that we are in fact strangely similar in many ways.....and all of a sudden you realized that you have met a couple more new friends that are as crazy and as stubborn as you are... that's beautiful in many levels.

Notice how many comments you had to talk about the bad shit in town but people can't think of nice things to say? I love that my friends in the theater community in town work day jobs and use their free time to make beautiful things to entertain others. They could be out drinking or having fun but instead work.
