We Wanna Start a Forum:

A couple weeks ago I was asked to attend a forum talk as part of the Hong Kong Arts Festival. The topic was the Nordic Modern Dance Culture. We studied their model of success in Scandanavian countries and talked about how their ideas and concepts could improve the modern dance scene in Hong Kong. Many of the same issues that Hong Kong has, the Nordic forum had dealt with. I found it was very useful to hear their story and how their arts scene got on its feet.
So I was thinking... We need more forums like this. Forums where the Chinese and English arts communities come together and talk about the issues in the Hong Kong arts scene. Forums where we brainstorm ideas on how we can improve things. Forums where we share our past experiences and hope that our journies inspire or help artists who are facing the same issues currently.
I like the idea of a topic, having one person doing a talk about it and sharing their experience and then opening the floor to others. What topics should we cover? Do you have a great idea for a talk you would like to give?
Don't know how to get started on your props/set search? We could have a talk about that. Want to know more about social media based marketing? We know people who know a lot about that and would be willing to share their tricks. Stuck on knowing how to book a venue? There are so many different topics we could cover! Our forum concept is only in the planning stages right now, so we could totally use your input to help make the idea better.
