HONG KONG – Award-winning Shax Theatre Group (STG) proudly presents a fresh new production of Shakespeare’s Love's Labour's Lost with pizzas. Our play will feature two live bands. There will be comedy, romance, and lots of groovy dancing!
Love’s Labour’s Lost, allegedly written just a year before Romeo and Juliet, follows the story of the King of Navarre and his three lords who swear to forsake women to focus on academia for the next three years – until that is, the French Princess’ party arrives at his court the very next scene. Meanwhile, Spanish eccentric Don Armado and his page Moth, visitors at Navarre's court, become acquainted with Constable Dull, Costard the swain and the beauteous Jaquenetta. Petitioned by the lords, they soon join forces with notable scholars Holofernes and Lady Natalia to stage a historical play called The Nine Worthies. With fiery banter and games of disguise, will these ladies finally be won over?
As STG’s eighth production in seven years, Love’s Labour’s Lost is the work of a forty-people cast and crew following our sold-out shows of The Two Gentlemen of Verona last year, which won Best Director and Best Ensemble at the Hecklers.
