The Godfather of Fascism, Benito Mussolini, was not just a notorious dictator much admired by Hitler, but also, unlikely as it seems, one of the world's greatest lovers. Women of all shapes, sizes and ages fell prey to his sexual magnetism. He boasted that he had as many as twelve mistresses at any given time.
Mussolini's Mistresses focuses on the Duce's relationships with the four women who were most influential to him personally as well as politically.
Margherita the aristocrat, who taught him how to woe the intellectual elites; Ida, who sold her business to fund his political career; Rachele, who bore him five children; and Clara, who blindly followed him to her own death.
