At 2pm: WOLF IN THE HOUSE by Simon Wu

A stormy night in Hong Kong. A university professor on the Star Ferry runs into a young man from mainland China. Kai invites Ming back to his Mid-Levels flat. Safely home the professor invites his guest to change into some dry clothes. As intimacy builds, Kai challenges Ming to a game of truth or lies. But tonight is the Festival of Hungry Ghosts where things are not all they seem.

At 3.30pm: JOURNEYS by Rosaline Ting

Jackie (from Hong Kong) and Yoke Zheng (from Singapore) are ‘more-middle-aged-than-they-like-to-say’ Chinese women nursing personal unhappinesses in their UK home life who head East in search of something lost, something buried, something sought, something to be found…

These plays were read as a double-billed 'work in progress' in London's off-West End for the UK's China Now! festival of 2008. 5 years on, this first 'outing' for Hong Kong audiences will test each play's textual mettle for subsequent full scale production. Each reading lasts 1 hour, followed by a Q&A session with cast, director and author too giving YOU the audience a say in the creative process.
