Sarah Kane's plays exploded onto the British theatre scene throughout the 1990s. They had as much of an impact as did John Osborne's Look Back In Anger in 1956 and Edward Bond's Saved in 1965. Kane's last play, 4:48 Psychosis, is based on personal experiences of severe depression which she suffered throughout her life, and the ineffectiveness of therapy and medication. During one period of depression, Kane found herself waking up at 4:48 each morning, shortly before dawn. Discounts available for students and seniors.
