Jung Ku-ho, one of the top fashion designers in Korea, and choreographer Yun Sung-joo take the four "noble" plants which feature frequently in Korea's still-life artworks as thematic symbols. With their distinctive scents, each represents a season in the year: plum blossom, orchid, chrysanthemum and bamboo.

Wearing gorgeous costumes coloured with minimal splashes of grey, black, pink, yellow and green, the 25 dancers' elegant and flowing movements create beautiful, spatial designs against a background of pure and dazzling white. Ravishing and delicate, Scent of Ink expresses the refined spirit of Korea's Joseon Kingdom era (1392 – 1910) scholars, its music evoking nobility, strength and deep dark emotions.
