Beijing choreographer Gu Jiani explores different attitudes towards life through changes in the qualities of the two dancers’ movement. At times perfectly in sync, completely antagonistic, domineering and submissive, fraught with anxiety and hysteria, Right & Left exposes the tangible and intangible constraints endured by us in search of our place in this restrictive society, but there is no single answer, only points of view and open-endedness.
