Step into the “post-punk” musical universe of Sébastien Pesot.

This photograph comes from the Crash series, with close-up photographs underscoring the shape of brass cymbals and inspired by Pesot's former days as a drummer in punk rock bands.

These intimate photographs allow the viewer an insight into the materiality of its subjects: the dents and bumps in the cymbal, the cracks and grooves produced by the drumsticks striking their surface all serve to tell a story. Without hearing any sound from the cymbals themselves, it is possible to imagine their tone and resonance.
