August Snow
December 20-21, 8pm and 3pm A dance poem about longing and the four seasons, using Chinese dance techniques with a contemporary choreographic approach. From the blooming of the red spider lilies in autumn to water lilies waving in the summer breeze, it tells of the cycle of time and its impermanence. Just as snow might fall in August, two people might meet unexpectedly. Parts of the show are in Mandarin. |

Venus in Fur
September 3, 5-6, 8pm and 3pm matinee on Saturday Vanda, an actress, arrives to audition, her bag filled with S&M gear and period costumes. Soon the playwright is drawn into reading his own script with this mysterious woman, with breaks to argue about the meaning of the story and the motivation of the characters. Set in a stark rehearsal studio, this fast-moving 90-minute play is both an intellectual adventure and a very funny encounter between an actress and a playwright. Elvis McGonagall: One Man and his Doggerel!
December 10-14, 7:45 Elvis McGonagall is the sole resident of The Graceland Caravan Park somewhere in the middle of nowhere where he scribbles verse whilst drinking scotch, listening to Johnny Cash and throwing heavy objects at his portable telly. Elvis is the 2006 World Slam Champion, a regular on BBC Radio 4 and has appeared on BBC1, BBC2 and Channel 4. |

Crossing Borders
December 6-7, 7:30pm A solo dance recital by Oxana Banshikova, exploring how the technique of South Indian classical dance can be used in compositions that are written in different languages, are set to various musical styles, and interpret different cultures. Inspired by her own experiences as a Kazakhstan-born Bharatanatyam dancer who has spent most of her life travelling the world, Oxana will take you on a journey illustrating how this ancient Indian dance form has evolved through the ages and why it’s now attracting more dancers and audience-members worldwide. |

Sandvolution
November 20-23, 7:30pm and 2:30pm matinee on Saturday Self-taught local sand painting artist Ma Wing Cheung (Ma Chai) has been studying sand painting for three years, and is a pioneer in the development of sand painting art in Hong Kong. Now, in his debut public performance, he interprets his very own sand stories. By combining music and improvisation, he pushes the boundaries of the visual and audio arts. |
