Macbeth
April 16-April 25, 7:30pm Brave Scottish general, Macbeth, receives a prophecy from a trio of sinister witches promising him a golden future as ruler of Scotland. Consumed by ambition and spurred to action by his wife, Macbeth murders King Duncan and takes the throne for himself. But he soon learns the meaning of terror as he is wracked with guilt and paranoia, becoming a tyrannical ruler as he is forced to commit more murders to protect himself from enmity and suspicion. The bloodbath and consequent civil war swiftly take Macbeth and Lady Macbeth into the realms of arrogance, madness and death. |

March 4-7, 7:15pm Aurora Theatre brings us Melissa Ross’s roiling dissection of family dysfunction: two sisters and one brother by three mothers and one dying dad try to work out what started the mess and, more importantly, how it might mess with them.

A Midsummer Night's Dream
February 11-13, 7:30pm Helena loves Demetrius, Demetrius loves Hermia, Hermia loves Lysander… What could be more complicated than when the lovers run into the forest, get lost, and become ensnared in a heated argument between the Fairy King and Queen? On the other side of the forest, a group of aspiring amateur actors is rehearsing a play. How will the play turn out? What will become of the lovers? Come and enjoy 80 minutes of love, bickering, magic, mischief and music, set against a post-World War II backdrop. This is the fifth Shakespearean production by Shax Theatre Group (STG), a young group founded in 2010 and based at HKU, with undergraduates and postgraduates from all disciplines. |

El Azahar Flamenco
February 5, 9:30pm "El Azahar" in Spanish means orange tree flower. It blossoms beautifully with a sweet smell everywhere in spring time of the southern Spain. Now, Betty Wong Lai Hung, the first recipient of The Hong Kong Jockey Club Music & Dance Fund Scholarship (Flamenco Dance) will bring the famous Spanish Flamenco Dance to Hong Kong and hope it can be the same as "El Azahar" that will touch every audience with the very unique fragrance of passion and hope!
Live music and singing accompany through out the entire show.

The title Amore, meaning love in Italian, is the subject of the expressive and imaginative performances presented by Kingston University music students and guest artists. |
