Inventions Around Bach: James Cuddeford with Jeremy Williams

In the words of the Sinfonietta's first violin James Cuddeford: '“I am delighted that Jeremy Williams will join us on viola for an evening of works inspired by Bach. Transcriptions of Bach’s works – from the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries – are complemented by works of three fascinating Japanese composers.”

Programme includes Bach/Mozart (Six Preludes and Fugues for String Trio), Bach/David (Selections from Two-Part Inventions for Violin & Viola), Hosokawa (Elegy for Solo Violin), Takemitsu (Itinerant for Solo Flute) and Bach/Nodaira (Chaconne for Four Violas).

The Last Five Years, a musical by Jason Robert Brown, explores the five-year relationship between Jamie Wellerstein, a rising novelist, and Cathy Hiatt, a struggling actress. Cathy’s story is told in reverse chronological order, beginning the show at the end of the couple’s marriage, and Jamie’s is told in chronological order, starting just after the couple first meet. The show premièred in Chicago in 2001, and has been produced Off-Broadway regularly since 2002.

Dinner With Beckett

Dinner With Beckett, an homage to the Nobel Prize winning Irish writer who turned the theatre world on its head with his play Waiting For Godot in 1953. The King of Absurdist drama is celebrated in this unique and intriguing performance complete with laughs and a few pauses. Presented by Performance Exchange (Daniel Foley).

This marks Daniel Foley’s 35th visit to the Hong Kong Fringe Club.
