Letters to the Beloved
June 4-6, 7:30pm and 3pm matinee on Saturday Letters to the Beloved, the tale of Mrs. Charles Dickens, is the latest original drama from Clare Stearns, artistic director of Perilous Mouths Theatre. Through music, physical theatre and the actual words of the main protagonists, the play investigates the life of Catherine Hogarth Dickens, the wife of the great Victorian writer Charles Dickens.
Created by Clare Stearns and devised by the cast, Letters to the Beloved stars Kath O’Connor and Rachel Zweig as Mrs. Charles Dickens, with Andy Fullard as G.B. Shaw, Helen Cannon as Katey Perugini and Jai Ignacio as the all-seeing, all-knowing Larry.

Figaro

"Figaro" resets the play in modern Hong Kong, where classic French farce meets Asia’s world city. |

JP- Forest of Truth
May 29-30, 8pm A comedy of crazy Japanese lovers who are influenced by their individual views about distorted love! The residents of “The Forest of Truth” are waiting to reveal the lies found in the human world. One day, a Man and a Woman step into the forest and immediately fall in love. However, the residents of the forest then reveal the hidden aspects of the lovers’ hearts. The couple now know each other’s true selves, and the story of their world takes some amazing, unexpected twists and turns. |

Ivor Gurney- A Voice Apart
May 21-23, 8pm and 2pm matinee on Saturday Interestingly, Ivor Gurney- A Voice Apart was written by another creative genius, Piers Gray, who lived and worked in Hong Kong until his untimely death in 1996.
For Jonathan Douglas, this will be the second time performing Ivor Gurney at The Fringe. The play was also presented at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 1994.
In conjunction with the production, and in commemoration of the Great War, there will also be film footage, a photographic exhibition, Ivor Gurney’s poems and music, and after-show discussions. A talk about Ivor Gurney will also take place in May. |
