Nominees- Best Dance Show
6-8-14
Dance shows are really difficult to create and produce. Don't underestimate the amount of talent and skill it takes to create a fabulous dance production. What's great about this year's nominees is that we have different styles and mediums of dance from break dancing to ballet to modern and pieces with small and large budgets. It's also nice to see world premiere shows and new choreographers nominated for their work in HK's world of dance. New work should be celebrated.

The Legend of Mulan, Hong Kong Dance Company
Hong Kong Dance Company's Mulan was a mixture of modern dance with traditional Chinese dance to tell the story of this legendary hero.
The Buying Game, CCDC
The Buying Game reflects Hong Kong's buying culture on stage. Why we buy, what we buy and the joy we get from spending cash on labels.
WHITE, DANCE Kho
With the belief that contemporary dance can, and should, be a medium to open up dialogue and bring disparate cultures together, DANCE Kho creates WHITE as an exciting collaboration between two very contrasting worlds: Mexico and Hong Kong.
Les Sylphides and More, Hong Kong Ballet
Les Sylphides was a salon style ballet of several smaller pieces, including a world premiere ballet. It was engaging to see so many different styles of ballet in one night.
The Peacock, Yang Liping
This was Yang Liping's final time on stage as a performer before moving onto the next stage of her career.
