Ethical Fashion: How Green Are Your Costumes?23-12-15
It is estimated that more than 1 million tons of textiles are thrown away every year in Asia. At least 50% of the textiles we throw away are recyclable. However, the textile wastes reused or recycled annually in Hong Kong is only a pitiful 20%. Why is this number so low? There are fabric recycling bins all over town!
Reduce Your Waste: Charities That Will Accept Used Costumes/Props/Set Pieces22-12-15
Working in theatre can be a very wasteful business. We have to make new sets, costumes, props for every production and storage space in HK can be pricey. It's always heartbreaking to see large amounts of reusable items thrown in a bin after you finish a show. You might be wondering how you can reduce your carbon footprint and recycle your used props/costumes and set pieces. Here's a list of charities in Hong Kong that accept gently used items.

Preview- Inherit the Wind- Aurora Theatre10-12-15
Hong Kong's Aurora Theatre is set to present J. Lawrence and R. E. Lee's award-winning script, Inherit the Wind, next month at the Hong Kong Rep Black Box. A thought-provoking script set during the historical Scopes Trial in the 1920's it brings to the stage the issue of Evolution vs. Creationism. This is still a hot-button issue in many countries, especially in the US where teachers are prosecuted for either choosing/not choosing to teach evolution in the classroom.

The Wiz Live Was Everything Theatre on TV Should Be8-12-15
NBC was THE place to be December 3rd for an absolutely epic staging of The Wiz. It featured a mega-talented cast headed by newcomer Shanice Williams as Dorothy, in her first major role. Her stage presence and breathtaking voice made sure this was going to be an amazing journey down the Yellow Brick Road. We can’t imagine anyone else doing such an iconic performance so early in their career. She absolutely nailed it and showed that undiscovered talent has a place on the big stage and that Broadway/TV should consider more open castings vs. just named celebrities.

Live with Lizzy!- The Weathering1-12-15
This year Clockenflap brought to their stages a good handful of bands for Hong Kong’s own local music scene, including The Weathering, a pop electronic duo. Leora and Jeff started their pop project a little over 5 years ago, around the same time they got married. Originally from Colorado, the Hong Kong based pairing has a very up beat sound, experimenting with the sounds of their surroundings, their travels, and electronic orchestrations.
