Nominees-Best BEAN Show2-8-13
BEAN Show stands for Best English Accessible Non-English Show. What a mouth full, right? This award is basically the best show that's not in the English but that is so fricking awesome that an English speaking audience member thinks it's one of the best shows of the year. This can include shows that are physical theatre and even included a nomination for a production that was in sign language. Shows you that HK's theatre scene is quite diverse and not just Cantonese and English shows any longer. We're Asia's World City and our art scene is starting to show that!
Shows We're Reviewing in August1-8-13

Hecklers Update 2.030-7-13
Hey guys! Thanks for all your enthusiasm for voting and spreading the word about The Hecklers! Make sure you're saving the date of September 3rd for what's sure to be one of the best parties in town. We've been overwhelmed with the amount of love that's been sent our way. First, we need to clear up a few things that have been swirling in the rumor mill.
Nominees-Best Theatre for Youth Show29-7-13
When we announced this category last year people were a little perplexed by it but actually a majority of the money in Hong Kong's theatre/dance industry is made in the theatre for youth market. It's a billion dollar industry! It's a common "fix it" that if your theatre company is not doing well you put on a kid's show to help fill the coffers. Parents love taking their kids to the theatre. And putting on a good quality show for children is an arduous task. Performers nominated in this category are being recognized for creating beautiful shows either for child audiences or with child actors.
Nominees-Best Dance Show28-7-13
Dance shows are really difficult to create and produce. Don't underestimate the amount of talent and skill it takes to create a fabulous dance production. What's great about this year's nominees is that we have different styles and mediums of dance from break dancing to ballet to modern to burlesque. It's also nice to see so many world premiere shows and new choreographers nominated for their work in HK's world of dance. New work should be celebrated.
Nominees-Best Show (Musical)27-7-13
Mass disclaimer: all the photos in these nominee articles are the property of the artists who created these shows and the photographers who took them. We're writing these articles to help inform the public so they can make their decisions on the Heckler ballot.
Nominees-Best Show (Non-Musical)26-7-13
We couldn't find any photos of The City That Never Sleeps but we have reviews of all of the Best Show (Non-Musical) nominees. If anyone has a show photo of The City That Never Sleeps we'd love to have it for the article.
10 Signs You're a Techie25-7-13

Struggling With Who To Vote For?23-7-13
